Members warned against meddling in Pas-led government
KEDAH Parti Keadilan Rakyat warned its party leaders from interfering in the running of the Pas-led state government.
State chairman Datuk Wan Salleh Wan Isa said: "Do not meddle with issues concerning the state government. If there are enquiries or grouses, please forward the complaints to us and we will work among ourselves to solve the matter," he said yesterda
Wan Salleh said if they meddled in issues that did not concern them, it would lead to misunderstandings and could create tension among the op-position partners.
"This is not the time for us to quarrel. We should concentrate on the election."
Two weeks ago, PKR communications director Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad criticised Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Azizan Abdul Razak for suspending five students from the state-owned Kolej Universiti Insaniah (Kuin).
Nik Nazmi said it regretted Kuin's decision to apply the Universities and University Colleges Act 1971 (UUCA) on the students.
However, Azizan, who is Kuin chairman, said it was a local issue and was not related to the opposition's pledge to abolish UUCA if it came into power.
Wan Salleh denied claims that there were leaders in Kedah PKR plotting to oust Azizan as menteri besar.
"I have said this before and I am going to say this again. I have investigated the matter and there is no such thing.
"Kedah PKR fully supports Azizan leading the state government as we have no problems with his leadership." - nst online
